IT'S ALMOST SHOW TIME AT SHOWPLACE!

Those who call High Point home every day of the year know that Market is just around the corner when the enormous tent begins to rise up in the parking area at SHOWPLACE. And, most Market-goers know that starting next Monday evening, October 1st, that tent will be the central hub of a nightly, week-long celebration that combines great music and entertainment with plenty of free food and drink.

Yet, while most in-the-know Market types are familiar with what happens outside of SHOWPLACE, those new to Market aren't always aware of the level of excitement and special amenities that await inside the half-million-square-foot exhibition building with the distinctive, wave-like exterior.

Among these, buyers are invited to enjoy complimentary breakfast each morning in the first floor Atrium beginning at 8:30 a.m. Later, during the building's Afternoon Socials, scheduled each afternoon from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres are the order of the day, with live music performed in the Atrium from 4:30 to 7 p.m. each evening. Additionally, a special City of Hope social event—one of the multiple, not-to-be-missed facets of the gala City of Hope Night at High Point Market—takes place Wednesday, October 3rd at 4:30 in the Atrium. Other amenities available in this people-friendly building include internet access, an office supply shop, coat check and a secure spot to check bags.

Opened at its current site adjacent to the Transportation Terminal at 211 East Commerce Avenue seven years ago this Fall, architecturally impressive, state-of-the-art SHOWPLACE—with its soaring, light-filled, one-hundred-foot tall central atrium—features five floors of world-class exhibitors and an easy-to-work floor plan. Among the new tenants to watch for here this Market: Abner Henry Fine Furniture, Astigarraga Kit Line, Bangkok Imports, Chromcraft, Cochrane Furniture, CR Home, Dalian Huate Furniture Co., Enjoy Lighting, Harris Marcus Home, Palmetto Creek, Peters-Revington, Silver, Southern Heritage Woodworks, Statements by J., Sumter, VillaBella, Xianghe Meite Furniture Co., and ZoMil Imports.

Across the way in SHOWPLACE West, buyers will find Jasper Cabinet and Superior Furniture showing for the first time on the Plaza Level, with Simon Li on the first floor. One of High Point's finest restaurants—J. Basul Noble's—serving lunch and dinner daily—is also located here.

Making big news this Fall is, of course, Chromcraft Revington—one of SHOWPLACE'S four, primary anchor tenants. The company recently leased 35,000-square-feet of showroom space on the second floor, and will showcase all of its CR-Home brands—Chromcraft, Peters-Revington, Sumter and Cochran Furniture— in fully integrated lifestyle settings under one roof in Suite 2400 for the first time.

When it's time for Market guests to take a break from shopping, SHOWPLACE offers a number of dining options, with well-known High Point restaurateur M. Stephen's making its debut on the first floor this Market, along with Juice 'N Java and Ben & Jerry's. Jersey Mike's Subs and Domino's Pizza are located on the second and third floors respectively.

Finally, SHOWPLACE is home to the High Point Market's International Buyer Center, located on the building's fifth floor. This comfortably appointed space offers a full complement of business amenities for international travelers, including currency exchange services, Internet access, fax and copier machines. Additionally, Market's international guests will find complete travel and concierge services, up-to-the-minute satellite news feeds, as well as a prayer and meditation room.
