As part of a special event sponsored by the International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC) in cooperation with the High Point Market Authority, lifestyle icon Martha Stewart, founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, will take the stage at the High Point Theatre on Tuesday evening, April 8, 2008, at 7 p.m. to discuss home decorating and her design inspirations with Interior Designer Stephen Sills.

The event, which will bring together retailers and interior designers, will open with Ms. Stewart’s and Mr. Sills’ discussion, followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience.

“I am delighted to be addressing this audience and sharing my ideas about home decorating and design, which are reflected in our offerings at the Spring Market in High Point,” said Martha Stewart, founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc (MSLO). “Ever since the launch of Martha Stewart Furniture with Bernhardt in 2002, the Market has showcased our beautiful, practical, and affordable decorating products. Many of these products are inspired by my personal collections and treasured objects I have discovered over the years. I’m looking forward to talking about these inspirations and our creative vision with an audience that shares my passion for high-quality design.”

“We are thrilled to offer our guests, customers, registrants and tenants this unique opportunity to hear Martha’s personal thoughts on home design and MSLO’s expanding home decorating portfolio,” says Tom Lindh, president and chief executive of the IHFC. “Martha Stewart is coming to the High Point Market because High Point is the home for her home furnishings lines. Bernhardt Furniture Co., and Murray Feiss Industries are both long-time tenants of IHFC, while Safavieh is housed in Historic Market Square. These three companies are respectively the manufacturers for Martha Stewart Furniture, Martha Stewart Lighting and Martha Stewart Rugs and each will unveil new product lines in High Point this Spring.”

“This special Martha Stewart event is part of one of the most extraordinary line-ups of educational and social events in the history of the High Point Market: The World’s Home for Home Furnishings,” says Brian D. Casey, president and chief executive of the High Point Market Authority. “Spring is traditionally the season of renewal, and this is without question the place where home furnishings professionals are coming to find the cutting-edge products and ideas they require to grow their businesses.”
