Here’s good news for all those traveling to Spring High Point Market April 7 to 13, 2008: Several new and newly-renovated hotels coming online just in time mean there are more options than ever for Market guests.

Among the new properties is a brand new 116-suite Residence Inn opened last fall on the Eastchester Drive/Route 68 Corridor on the Greensboro/High Point border near the Piedmont Triad Airport. All rooms include a kitchen with full-size refrigerator, stovetop, dishwasher, and all place settings including pots and pans. (A grocery shopping service is available). Wireless Internet service and a workstation are provided in each suite. Other hotel amenities include a complimentary full, hot breakfast, indoor pool with whirlpool spa and a fitness room with LCD screens on all the equipment, according to Shannon Stewart-Hill, director of sales.

Tara Lambe, director of operations for the new Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites located on Business 85/40 in Greensboro, reports that her brand new, smoke-free 83-room hotel will open later this month. Included among the amenities are a business center, complimentary “express start” breakfast, free high-speed hardwire and wireless Internet access, free local phone calls and parking, and “USA Today” each morning.

And, while the 175-room Doubletree Hotel Greensboro opened its doors last Fall, Spring Market will mark the first full High Point Market with availability for Market guests. Located on High Point Road in Greensboro, the completely renovated Doubletree boasts free wired Internet in every room (wireless in public spaces); indoor pool and 24-hour fitness room; full service restaurant with room service; 5,000-square-feet of meeting space and plenty of free parking, according to Joe Lumpp, transition director from the Doubletree corporate office.

The new Hyatt Place Greensboro, conveniently located to shopping, restaurants and downtown High Point near the Wendover/I-40 exchange in Greensboro, has also completed extensive renovations including all rooms, lobby and common area. Vickie Hiatt, director of sales shares that the 124-room hotel with free WiFi throughout offers complimentary airport shuttle, complimentary continental breakfast, 24-hour food and beverage availability and beer and wine service. All guest rooms feature a high-definition 42-inch plasma television with a plug-in station for all electronics, refrigerator and eight-foot sectional. The facility also offers a 1200-square-foot meeting room with built-in LCD projector and 42-inch plasma screen. An “E-Room” business center is also available to guests.
