Fans of aspenhome’s thoughtfully designed, function-packed furnishings have plenty to celebrate this Market. The Phoenix, AZ-based, full-line furniture company is opening a new, 40,000-square-foot showroom on the 12th floor of the International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC), Commerce Wing—presenting in one grand space the aspen furniture and aspenhome collections that have previously been divided between the 6th and 13th floors.
The grand-opening, ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new showroom is set for Monday, April 7th at 8 a.m., and all are invited. Early word is that attendees can expect to mingle with a number of prominent North Carolinians who are expected to be on hand that morning to express their appreciation and support. Along with representatives from the High Point Market Authority, will be Senator Katie Dorsett, Lt. Governor Beverly Perdue, Congressman Howard Coble, Asst. Secretary of Commerce Kathy Neal, Commissioner of Labor Cherie Berry, NC Representative Laura Wiley, County Commissioner John Parks, High Point Mayor Becky Smothers and Chamber of Commerce President Tom Dayvault.
“We are always pleased when an exhibitor increases their commitment to the High Point Market, but it’s particularly meaningful when a company based in the Western U.S. does so, and especially a company of aspenhome’s caliber," says Brian Casey, President and Cheif Executive Officer of the High Point Market Authority. "Whether participating in the revitalized Pre-Market movement, creating an even more exciting showroom space, or leading the way with innovative, feature-laden products, aspenhome is clearly a company on the move. We applaud their vision and are proud to call them a partner.”
“The furniture market started in High Point nearly 100 years ago and is a vital part of the home furnishings business,” says Dave Heard, aspenhome executive vice president of sales, adding that the showroom move is an integral part of the company’s bid to be recognized throughout the industry as a national supplier.
Indeed, throughout the past few years, the Western-based company has implemented a number of major initiatives to step up its presence on the East Coast, in an effort to further expand its business. Given that the region is home to more than 70 percent of the retail purchasing power in the U.S., aspenhome has added senior sales management based here, along with experienced representatives. The company also recently unveiled a new, ASAP 10-day land delivery program, and has further merchandised its product line to meet the specific style needs of East Coast consumers.
