HPMA Announces Design Viewpoints Lecture Series for Interior Designers

The High Point Market Authority (HPMA), in association with the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), is producing a special Design Viewpoints Lecture series for interior designers at Spring Market, Sunday, April 18 to 20. The seminars, delivered daily at Noon, offer up to 0.3 continuing education units (CEUs), over the course of the show. They will take place from noon to 1:30 pm each day at 100 High (Plaza Level, corner of Wrenn and High Streets), and include complimentary lunch.

"Continuing education and professional networking are critical to the ongoing success of practicing interior designers—one of the fastest-growing constituencies at the High Point Market—and access to educational opportunities is a top priority for most," says Brian D. Casey, president and chief executive officer of the High Point Market Authority, official sponsor of the High Point Market: The World's Home for Home Furnishings. SFC Offers GREENLeaders Training At Market

Designers interested in earning CEU credits during Market week can score 6 CEUs by participating in GREENleaders Certified Sustainability Training, a six-hour exam course developed in conjunction with the Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC) and sponsored by Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. (MMPI).

According to the SFC, GREENleaders is the most comprehensive green furnishings training program available, providing designers with the knowledge and credentials to differentiate themselves as experts in sustainability. Modules include: The Case for Sustainability; Knowing Green Consumers; Sourcing Green Products; Selling Green Products; Designing Green Interiors; and Operating Green Showrooms. 220 Elm Announces Contest Winners

The results are in: Five lucky Market-goers have won parking spaces at 220 Elm for Spring Market. They are: Cottswood Interiors, Edmonton Alberta; Discovery Furniture, Topeka, KS; Gabberts/HOM, Edina, MN; Motif Modern Living/MotifFurniture.com, San Antonio, TX and National Home Centers, a nine-store chain based in Arkansas.

Heinz Kattenfeld, chief operating officer, 220 Elm, says the contest ran from January 1 to March 15, and was featured in print and online ads in Home Furnishings Business (HFB). "I am pleased with the response we received from retailers in the U.S. and Canada and look forward to welcoming our winners to 220 Elm in April," he reports. Winning retailers will park in the lot located at 303 W. Green Drive, right across the street from 220 Elm.
