Temptations Headline at Aquarius Music Hall

Market-goers headed to High Point this Spring have more live music options than ever before thanks to the new The Aquarius Music Hall located at 400 English Road.

The Aquarius Music Hall is the brainchild of furniture executive Gabriele Natale, president of Lifestyle Enterprise’s Shanghai Leather Division, who realized that the century-old, three-story Adams Mill Hosiery Mill building with its exposed brick and hardwood floors not only had great acoustics, but square footage enough to transform it into a cavernous concert venue.

Headlining the offerings here during Market will be The Temptations Review on Monday, April 19th. The group is led by Dennis Edwards, the first new Temptation to enter the group after their “classic five” heyday. Two of the Temptations songs he appears on “Cloud Nine” and “Papa Was a Rollin Stone” won Grammy Awards, and Edwards was the lead singer on many other Temptations hits including “I Can’t Get Next To You,” “Ball of Confusion,” “Psychedelic Shack,” and of course, the iconic “My Girl.” A true legend in the music industry, Edwards has racked up seven Grammys, 14 gold records and sold more than 100 million records worldwide, both as leader of one of the most successful Motown groups in the world, and as a solo artist.

“Doors open at 8 and along with The Temptations the line-up each night includes great opening acts, as well as a DJ when the bands are on break,” Natale says. “We’re here to entertain and ensure that everyone has a good time when they are here for Market, and anytime they visit the world’s home for home furnishings.”

The good times get started with urban hip-hop, rock-and-roll band The Five L’s on Thursday night, April 15. Tickets are $10 for those under age 21, and $7 for those over. The progressive bluegrass of Acoustic Syndicate and the “newgrass,” Afro-Cuban, Carribean and jam-band favorites of Windy Trail Travelers is set for Friday, April 16 ($15 in advance, $20 at the door), and then it’s Absolute ‘80s on Saturday night April 17 ($10 in advance, $12 at the door).

Tickets for The Temptations are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Market-goers can purchase tickets for all shows where advance sales are available online via Etix, as well as at the door. For more information visit the website: www.theaquariusmusichall.com.
