Emerson Bentley is a complete, high-end resource specializing in home furnishings of notable distinction and exceptional quality, including over 34,000 SKU’s of 100% customizable upholstery.
Emerson Bentley is using the power of social media to spread the word about its new name.
The furniture company will kick off an interactive giveaway involving selfies, hashtags and luxury cars on Friday, the opening day of High Point Market.
“Emerson et Cie was such a well-recognized name in our industry, but it’s time to elevate the name Emerson Bentley,” said Marvin Smith, the company’s owner and founder. “We had to come up with a visual and creative way to help our customers remember our new name.”
Smith negotiated with Geoff Eade, owner of the luxury car dealership Bentley High Point to display a shiny red 2014 automobile at the entrance driveway of the Emerson Bentley showroom at 520 N. Hamilton St. during Market.
Visitors to the showroom will be encouraged to snap a selfie with the $219,075 Bentley Continental GT V8 S Coupe. Anyone who shares their photo on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook using the hashtags #EmersonBentley #HPMkt and #BentleyHighPoint will be entered to win an iPad Mini.
“We all know that selfies are so popular right now. Ellen DeGeneres’ group selfie at the Oscars was the most retweeted image on Twitter ever, and ‘selfie’ was the word of the year in 2013,” Smith said. “We wanted to join in the selfie mania and harness the power of social media to get our #EmersonBentley hashtag trending at Market.
“We thought this would be a really fun way to help people remember the name Emerson Bentley,” he said.
Emerson Bentley has partnered with well-known New York interior designer Diane Guariglia, whose work has been featured in Traditional Home magazine and multiple designer showhouses, on a new furniture collection debuting at the Spring High Point Market.
The 12-piece Dyfari Collection for Emerson et Cie includes a Bedroom and Occasional assortment, with an emphasis on texture, pattern, color and fine detailing. Guariglia combines classic forms with modern finishes, fabrics and brass details for a high-style transitional look.
Furniture companies Emerson et Cie and Bentley Churchill have merged their names, as well as their businesses.
The combined Emerson Bentley will debut a new name, signage and visual identity at the Spring High Point Market reflecting its 30-year evolution from an occasional furniture importer to a designer manufacturer of stylish high-quality fine furniture and upholstery.
The two companies merged in 2008 when Emerson et Cie purchased Bentley Churchill. But they had continued to operate under separate identities even as they streamlined operations and shared resources.
The name change allows Emerson Bentley to present one strong brand identity to its customers, company president Mark E. Smith said.
