Editor’s Spotlight: House Beautiful Senior Market Editor Jennifer Condon shares some stylish treats from Fall Market From configuring your own sofa to made-to-measure coffee tables, customization was the watchword this fall. Drool-worthy wallpapers – some that leave a lasting impression – popped up throughout Market. It’s always a treat to meet the designers behind the products, and this season was all about debuts from the Thomases – Filicia at Kravet, O’Brien at Century, and Pheasant at Baker. Maddison Etagere from Highland House This simple etagere caught my eye with its bold, two-tone palette and clean lines. Perfect for any room in the house, it’s big enough to provide adequate storage, but with open sides and a slightly tapered profile, it remains unobtrusive. I’d use mine in the living room to show off favorite collections, or in the den for extra book storage. Oriental Garden by York Wallcoverings I’ve been impressed by so many vinyl wallcoverings recently; it’s exciting to see the trend continuing. In addition to Phillip Jeffries’ new Vinyl Lacquered paper, this new embroidered collaboration between York and Missoni is phenomenal in look, feel, and price! Baldwin Swivel Chair from Palecek With an upholstered body and round pedestal base, this was one of my favorite new chairs from Market. A great transitional size for both entertaining and relaxing, I’d dress it up in a bold batik to modernize a living room – or envelope it in nubby cashmere for a cozy reading spot. Winterthur Estate Bench by Lane Venture Inspired by historical architectural elements but modernized in shape and scale, I would use this perforated aluminum bench indoors or out, upholstered with a chic stripe or chintz. Ray Sconce by Thomas Pheasant for Baker Stepping into the Baker showroom is always a highlight, and Thomas Pheasant’s new collection did not disappoint. I particularly loved his sculptural lighting installed in multiples along the wall.
