Third Night Progressive Gala Turns Hamilton Wrenn District into a Neighborhood Block Party

Kerri Thole, Owner and Designer of At Home Décor and Design in Danville, CA, started her Monday night adventure by stepping into a vintage Rolls Royce to be chauffeured through the Hamilton Wrenn District. “I’m taking a drive around the block to see what’s going on in all the showrooms. It seems like every building has special events and I don’t want to miss anything!”

Donna Sumner, designer and owner of Westport Interiors in Denver, NC, mixed business with pleasure at the Fairfield showroom with her associate Cindy Michaels and Fairfield merchandising director, April Welch, while she placed an order for upholstered chairs. “I heard about Third Night and thought it would be a good time to come by and take another look at the pieces I’d selected, and talk with April in a more relaxed manner. You never know, after a beer I might buy more than I planned!”

“Thomas O’Brien is a legend to me and I have always greatly admired his style. When I found out I could meet him, and watch him teach a floral design demonstration at Century Furniture’s Cocktails in the Garden Room, I couldn’t miss the opportunity. He was delightful. So accessible and interesting to speak with,” said Allan Domagas of AMD Interior Design Consulting of Brooksville, FL. “This is a Market memory I won’t forget!”

The musical stylings of guitarist Isaiah Haamad attracted interior designer Marlene Freeman of Miramar Beach, FL, and her associates. “We’re headed over to 200 Steele to sample Bellinis at John-Richard, Tapas and Pink Stiletto Martinis at The Bradburn Gallery or maybe The Queen of Tarts Jubilee Dessert Bar at Scarborough House,” she said. “This party atmosphere is creating a new spirit for Market, and providing a lot of great places to rest our tired feet!”

“Third Night gave us a another great reason to hang out and enjoy the crowd at the Woodman Pub in the Jonathan Charles showroom,” said Brittany Ronquille, buyer with the Shade Tree and Accessories, Inc. of Houston, TX. “We spend a lot of time here when we’re winding down after a long day of shopping. The music is great and we always meet folks from around the world.”

At Paul Robinson, Inc., Third Night was "an opportunity to get people engaged with our company in a new and exciting way. We encouraged visitors to express their creative sides by adding their brush strokes to a canvas. We invited them to open their left brains and enjoy their own artistic experience," said Matthew Robinson, VP/Sales Representative. “It was such a success we plan to have another paint party in October!"

Michael Goldman, president of Carolina Castings of High Point, hitched a ride on a pedal cab as he headed out to start his Third Night adventure.

“Our relationship with our vendors is much closer than even a partnership,” said Mike Farrell of Three Pears Production of Potomac, MD who met up with Judy Laseter Benton at the bar in the Century showroom. “This is more like a family reunion!”

The Third Night Gala is gearing up again in the Hamilton Wrenn Design District for Fall Market, as well as an abundance of other great social gatherings. Check our Events section to add your favorites to your schedule.
