Come to the Interior Design Summit at High Point Market to start creating your ideal business
It’s six-o’clock Monday morning. You roll over, grab your cell phone and start looking at your endless stream of emails. You feel your anxiety level increasing because you see a client questioning your bill.
Or, you see a 2am text from Lisa D. She wants to know when her sofa is arriving. And, of course, in the next green bubble, “Have you seen this item from XYZ online? It is a lot like what you showed me for $1,000 last week. Why is your price so high? We need to meet!” Your heart sinks and your mouth goes dry.
So, you quickly switch to Facebook hoping for that positive stimulation you get when someone comments nicely on your posts, or says something kind and encouraging. It must be some heaven-sent reward for the Monday Morning Mayhem on your phone.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Many interior designers have a love-hate relationship with their business, employees, and clients these days. So much work and still so much wondering when the big breakthrough will happen – when you get the perfect job with the perfect client that is destined for the glossy shelter magazine. Then, and happily ever after, the phone will ring with ideal client offering ideal project after ideal client after ideal project.
Imagine waking up at 8am, rested, relaxed, to the sound of breaking ocean waves and seagulls squawking. You yawn, stretch and enjoy the next few minutes, smiling and looking forward to the day ahead.
You get up, take a run on the beach, and then stretch out on a towel in the warmth of the morning sun. You spend the next thirty minutes leisurely journaling, thinking about what inspires you and brings you joy. You love your family, your friends, and your community. You feel at peace knowing that your second-in-command is in control at the office.
You while away the morning relaxing and playing in the water with your significant other. You enjoy a lunch al fresco of fresh, sweet, juicy pineapple, crunchy grilled vegetables, and flaky grilled salmon, topped with a lovely mango salsa. Is your mouth watering yet?
You spend the afternoon with a sketchbook and watercolors. Indulging your creativity, you swirl the different pigments together, creating new hues. Life is great.
Rekindle Your Passion
If you could have more of that Alternate Universe, where you can reboot your inspiration, motivation and passion, what would it be like? How would you feel? What would it do for you and your family?
Start creating your vision today. Imagine what your life would be, if your business were running like a well-oiled machine. Write your vision down in a journal. Print it out. Laminate it and post it in a place where you can see and review it every day.
That’s what we dream for you – to find your passion and inspiration again.
