Beyond What We See: Sound as Material
Educational Asian Loft USA, Windsor Plaza, Floor 1 Neighborhood: Other Shuttle Stop: 0 (Go-Anywhere Shuttle)
The presentation explores sound as an often-overlooked material in the design of space, from the way natural sound patterns and deep frequencies affect the nervous system to the role of resonance, vibration, and biophilia in shaping how we experience our surroundings. The conversation will consider how designers can think beyond the visual to create spaces that engage the senses, support wellbeing, and evoke a deeper emotional response. Ultimately, the presenters invites us to listen to space differently and consider sound as an essential element of design.
Speakers: Nicole Baxter, Steven Sonneville
